Many people have asked us how they can help us out, and right now the most practical thing that we need help with is food. A good friend of ours set up a meal sign-up for those who would like to help out in this way. Here’s the link: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/20F0F48AEAA2FA64-supply Most of the slots through […]

A restful weekend

Posted on February 19, 2018, 9:40 PMFebruary 19, 2018, 10:04 PM by Hannah

Okay, hi, I’m back! (not that you guys were waiting around for me…) I needed to take a quick breather. First off, here’s a couple pics of our brave little boy this morning! He’s slowly starting to sit up again. The weekends at the hospitals are the best because docs and nurses are not constantly […]

Day 9 – Chinese New Year

Posted on February 16, 2018, 11:03 PMFebruary 18, 2018, 8:37 AM by Hannah

Adam is starting to use his feet a lot more again. Lately he enjoys wrapping his feet around dad’s face or pressing his toes against dad’s face ?   We’ve started sitting him up more, which he seems to really enjoy. We think he’s getting tired of lying in a bed all day (who wouldn’t!) […]

Day 8 – Adam’s Eating

Posted on February 15, 2018, 10:33 PMFebruary 18, 2018, 8:36 AM by Hannah

Adam is still recovering from his first chemo treatment but we are seeing small improvements day by day. I woke up to this BIG SMILE this morning ? His belly got another 2 cm smaller in circumference from yesterday’s measurement. His weight also went down by 0.7 kg. It seems his left eye is also […]

Day 7 – A happy Valentines day

Posted on February 14, 2018, 3:03 PMFebruary 15, 2018, 11:42 AM by Hannah

The nurses are fighting over who gets to be his valentine today ♥. Obviously because he’s the most adorable little cancer patient here ? Our little fighter is showing signs of improvement everyday. The doctors and nurses are all very happy with his progress so far. His girth is measured every morning and his belly […]

What Our Days Look Like

Posted on February 12, 2018, 10:37 PM by Hannah

So, many people are probably wondering what a day to day looks like for us here at CHLA. We’ve been here for 5 days now, and I feel like we’ve practically moved in. I’ve already unpacked my suitcase and put stuff into drawers. Here’s a view of our room at night. That’s the fold out […]

Chemo Cycle 1 – Complete

Posted on February 11, 2018, 11:37 AM by Hannah

So, yesterday afternoon Adam received his 3rd dose of chemo medication and he has now completed his first cycle of treatment. He had no reaction to the 3rd dose this time (thank you, Lord ?) and everything went smoothly. Thank you to all those who had been praying for this! Last night after his treatment […]

A happy morning

Posted on February 10, 2018, 12:44 PMFebruary 10, 2018, 1:11 PM by Hannah

Despite the distressing news we received yesterday, we are happy that Adam seems to be more alert and playful this morning. He was talking to the nurses, rattling his toy, and as always, pulling his IV wires. He is also eating much better than the last few days, AND peeing and pooping a lot! “Yay, […]

Another Rough Day…

Posted on February 9, 2018, 10:14 PM by Hannah

Adam has his second chemo dose today. He once again had a similar reaction as last night where he deoxygenated and hyperventilated. However after some additional pre-medications, the transfusion was resumed and 4 hours later the second dose of chemotherapy was complete. Adam’s 3rd and final dose will be tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. We also received […]

Try again- 2nd chemo medication

Posted on February 9, 2018, 12:03 AM by Hannah

The chest X-ray was clear and showed no fluid in his lungs. As a result of this side effect from the 2nd chemo medication resulting in deoxygenation, the doctors decided to give him hydrocortisone (steroid) to combat the reaction. The steroid worked well and the second dose was given once again at a slower rate […]
